12月28日,美国伊利诺伊大学香槟分校(University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign)于洋博士应邀到所进行学术交流和访问。
访问期间,于洋博士在学术报告厅做了题为《Engineering myoglobin to a functional heme-copper oxidase by incorporating unnatural amino acids》的学术报告。报告中,于洋介绍了如何利用非天然氨基酸定点插入,实现用18kD 的肌红蛋白模拟呼吸链中重要膜蛋白复合物细胞色素c氧化酶。该工作首次提供了细胞色素c氧化酶中保守翻译后修饰Tyr-His功能的直接证据,是蛋白质设计领域的重要进展,并有望在生物能学中获得重要应用。
